3 phases of website development
- Pre-production
- Production
- Post-production

Pre-production includes
- discovering the site's purpose
- defining and tailoring the site to the target audience
- determining the navigation structure, including top global navigation, breadcrumb trails, local navigation
- creating charts that include top-level pages, same-level pages, parent pages, and child pages
- sketching the layout including an header, footer, local navigation and content area
- using appropriate design choices in color, placement (above the fold and using white space), consistency and usability
Production includes
- creating and managing new folders
- using the library to manage items
- creating the pages
