Missions Trip -
1. Choose a missionary to visit on a missions trip. (you will most likely to contact the missionary via email or phone for some information on this project)
2. Plan a trip of at least 3 weeks.
3. Write a 1 page (at least 300 words) report containing the following information on the Missionaries Situation. Use headings and professional formatting to make your report shine.
- Discuss the missionary you'll be visiting. How long have they been in that area? What are their goals? What specific projects are they currently working on? Provide basic information on the missionaries.
- Discuss the people of the area you'll be visiting. What are their views towards Christianity? What is the predominate religion? What challenges would you face with the culture?
- Discuss what needs you can meet on your missionary trip. What will you do on your trip? What ways can you help the ministry the most?
4. Create an excel spread sheet that charts and graphs the percentages of adherents to different religions in the missionaries area.
5. Write a 1 page (at least 300 words) report on the specifics on cost and needs. Include:
- Discuss your transportation needs. How will you arrive in the area? Include all means of transportation that will be used including car, train, plane, ect.
- Create a packing list of the items you'd need to bring along. Be sure you have the items you need, but keep your luggage as compact as possible. Include all items, including clothes, toiletries, personal items. Format the list in excel as a checklist, with boxes next to each item that you can check off.
- Discuss any relief materials that you could bring. Is the area in need of medicines, bibles or other items? Are there any comfort items from home that the missionaries might enjoy?
6. Research cost on actual airfare for dates you'll be flying. Include a list of possible flights, with information on each flight's cost, departure and arrival city.
7. Create a spread sheet that lists all costs for the trip. Include travel (use actual flight info), food, supplies. Be sure to convert all figures into US Dollars.
8. Use google earth or google maps to explore the area. Include a powerpoint slide with a satellite view of the area, and notes on what different parts of the satellite image are.
9. Create a Powerpoint that summarizes the information you've gathered. Image you are presenting to your church when looking for support. Include slides on all the information you've found. Include actual pictures whenever possible. You will present this powerpoint in class and be graded on the following:
- Amount of quality information
- Clarity of presentation
- Effective use of technology
10. Take this project seriously. Pray about your missionary as you get a glimpse of their lives.

Notes:
Please be considerate in your communication with the missionaries. Don't place any burdens on them. Your grade will not be affected by the amount of cooperation from your missionary.
Choose a missionary from a missions board that's supported by your church. You need to be sure that the missionairy has the same fundamental beliefs as you and your church.
